How to Start Your Marketing Strong In 2026

Wooohooooo it is 2026, new year, new goals, let’s gooooo!

Most small businesses don’t start a new year with bad intentions.
They start with motivation, ideas, and big plans.

And then…
Marketing becomes reactive.
Posting gets inconsistent.
Offers feel messy.
And momentum quietly fades.

If you want 2026 to feel different — calmer, clearer, and more intentional — your marketing needs structure before the year begins.

Not more platforms.
Not more content.
Better foundations.

Why Most Marketing Plans Fall Apart By February

Here’s what I see every year:

  • Businesses jump straight into posting without clarity
  • Offers aren’t clearly defined
  • There’s no plan beyond “I should be more visible”
  • Marketing happens around the business, not for it

The problem isn’t effort.
It’s the lack of a simple, realistic plan that fits your actual capacity.

That’s why planning matters more than motivation.

Start With The Foundations (Before You Touch Social Media)

Before you think about ads, reels, emails, or trends — you need clarity on a few core things:

  • What you’re actually selling in 2026
  • Who it’s for
  • What success looks like for your business
  • How much time and energy you realistically have

Marketing works best when it supports your business — not when it competes with it.

This is exactly why I created my free Marketing Planner.

I created this planner to help business owners:

  • step back and reflect on what worked (and didn’t)

  • define clear offers for the year ahead

  • simplify their marketing instead of overcomplicating it

  • create a plan they can actually stick to

Controversial Opinion: You Don’t Need A Website To Start Marketing Properly

This is important.

You don’t need a full website to:

  • build an email list
  • plan your marketing
  • show up consistently
  • or grow strategically

You can start with:

  • a simple subscription page
  • one clear free resource
  • and a plan that guides your content and messaging

Your marketing doesn’t need to be perfect to be effective.
It just needs direction.

So how to do this?

Well, first we need to chat a little bit about email marketing and automations – I am actually publishing a comprehensive guide on this next week, so please stay tuned for that, but here is what you need to know now:

Why Email Still Matters In 2026

I start here with all my coaching and end-to-end marketing clients and I tell you why. Your subscriber list is the only list that you actually own. Tiktok or Instagram can collapse tomorrow and how will you reach your audience then?

That’s right! Email!

Plus you already know that these people are engaged – the cheapest audience you can get.

So here is what you do

  1. Register a free account on one of the email marketing service providers, I recommend Mailerlite, this is what I use too and this is what I will explain next week, but don’t worry, most of them are actually built the same.
  2. Have a domain – to be able to send emails this way, you have to have a domain name (it doesn’t mean website). I recommend GoDaddy, it is usually the cheapest option. Make sure that you are only buying the domain and one email handle to begin with.’
  3. Connect your MailerLite and Domain.
  4. Now you can create a landing page on Mailerlite and can start to collect your subscribers.

How to get more support?

Well, first make sure that you are subscribed to my newsletter, so you will never miss a thing and recive awesome marketing tips like this.

You could also check out my YouTube channel and my Instagram – let’s be friends there too.

And definitely download the Marketing Planner, however, this is only the starting point.

1. Marketing Coaching

This is ideal if you want:

  • clear, confident offers that actually make sense to your audience
  • guidance on what to focus on now — and what to stop wasting energy on
  • someone to step back and look at the entire picture, not just one platform

Sometimes, a single 90-minute strategy call is all it takes to unlock clarity, remove bottlenecks, and create a clear path forward. The cost of a 90-minutes coaching call is $180+GST – you can book a free discovery call to begin with here.
For many businesses, that one conversation is enough to simplify their marketing, realign priorities, and confidently scale the next phase.

Coaching is strategic, practical, and tailored to your business model, goals, and capacity.

2. End-To-End Marketing Support

This is for businesses that are ready to:

  • scale without chaos
  • simplify their marketing
  • stop guessing and start making intentional decisions

This work goes deeper.
We look at positioning, customer journey, platforms that actually matter, and the systems that support sustainable growth — not just individual tactics or short-term fixes.

I don’t work with everyone.
And I don’t believe in one-off fixes.

But if you’re ready to build clarity, structure, and momentum that lasts, there’s space to explore what support makes sense for you.
