Case Study: How a Personal Trainer Got Booked Out in One Month

by Gabriella Sovago | Feb 3, 2026 | Business Mindset, Marketing 101

Damien is a personal trainer. A good one.Not the “looks good on Instagram, disappears when things get hard” kind — the real kind. He knows his craft. He shows up. He gets results. And this matters, because competency was never the problem. Neither was confidence. Nor...

Why Your Marketing Attracts Leads But Doesn’t Convert

by Gabriella Sovago | Jan 20, 2026 | Business 101, Business Mindset, Marketing 101

“My marketing is working. I attract people. I just can’t close them.” I hear this sentence all the time from small business owners. Usually it comes with a sigh. Sometimes a nervous laugh. Often while a coffee goes cold beside an open laptop. On the surface, it sounds...

If Your Business Falls Apart When You Take a Break, It’s Not Working Properly

by Gabriella Sovago | Jan 13, 2026 | Business 101, Business Mindset, Marketing 101

Let me say this plainly, because dancing around it doesn’t help anyone. If your business falls apart when you take a break, it’s not working properly. I know. That sentence alone can sting. It’s the kind of thing you read, feel a flash of defensiveness about, and then...

Wooohooooo it is 2026, new year, new goals, let’s gooooo! Most small businesses don’t start a new year with bad intentions. They start with motivation, ideas, and big plans. And then… Marketing becomes reactive. Posting gets inconsistent. Offers feel messy. And...

As the founder of Glow Sphere Marketing, I love opportunities like this to connect with local business owners and support them with strategy and growth ideas. I have been with this program for almost a year and loving all the mentoring sessions.

A big thank you to @mackaycouncil for organising such a valuable day for the local business community, and to @mackayregionchamber and @ypmackay for helping spread the word and letting small businesses know about this opportunity.
January happened quietly behind the scenes. Gabi January happened quietly behind the scenes.

Gabi worked remotely while travelling through India and Sri Lanka, experienced the digital nomad lifestyle again, learnt how to surf (very humbling), saw the Taj Mahal, and made some unexpected friends along the way.

At Glow Sphere, we launched a 2-hour marketing coaching session for $180 with just 10 spots — and it sold out quickly. Because of the enquiries, we’re opening a few more spots in February. - Comment COACHING for a link

Viki spent the month wandering through Egypt and working on something we’ll share more about soon.

And behind the scenes, we welcomed two new team members — Bushra, an incredibly talented senior graphic designer with over 15 years of experience, and Sam, our senior social media manager.

January didn’t need to be loud.
It just needed to move the business forward.

And it did.
Two things I’ve learned as a small business owner: Two things I’ve learned as a small business owner:

People don’t read.

Some people think you’re Amazon — with Prime prices and same-day delivery.

They want:
– instant replies
– instant quotes
– instant decisions
– all while paying Amazon-level prices for a custom service.

Spoiler: that’s not how small businesses work.

If your inbox is full of long conversations that go nowhere, it’s usually not because you “can’t sell”.

It’s because your marketing is too polite.

Vague messaging attracts people who want convenience, not commitment.
And those people will happily take your time — just not pay your worth.

Better positioning fixes this before the conversation starts.

Clear messaging.
Clear expectations.
Clear pricing cues.

So the wrong people don’t even click.

That’s what I work on in my marketing coaching.

I’ve reopened my books and I’m offering a 2-hour coaching session for $180 (limited spots).
For many businesses, this one session is enough to:
– stop attracting Amazon-level expectations
– filter out price shoppers
– and get enquiries from people who are actually ready to pay

You don’t need to respond faster.
You need to attract better.

Comment AMAZON and I'll send you the link for the coaching session.

For a long time, I thought the answer was more lea For a long time, I thought the answer was more leads.

More visibility.
More traffic.
More people in the funnel.

And boy was I soooooo wrong!

What I actually got was more conversations that went nowhere.

Just wasting my already limited time... and theirs.

Over time — and across a lot of client work — the pattern became obvious:
income doesn’t grow when lead volume grows.

It grows when positioning improves.

When your message is clear, your offer is obvious, and the right people recognise themselves in what you’re saying, things shift.

You stop convincing.
You stop chasing.
You stop wondering why you’re “busy” but not paid properly.

Fewer leads.
Better fit.
Better decisions.

That’s what actually moves the needle.

Most people think working with a travel influencer Most people think working with a travel influencer is about content.

Pretty destinations. Aesthetic reels. Deliverables.

In reality, the real work starts before any of that.

When a creator shifts direction — like moving from lifestyle into travel — it’s not just a content change. It’s an audience shift, an offer shift, and an identity shift. If those aren’t clearly mapped, the brand starts to feel fragmented very quickly.

Before creating anything, we stepped back and built the foundations:
• who the new audience is
• what the brand now stands for
• how people should experience it across platforms

Only then did we adjust Pinterest, place a more intentional focus on TikTok, refine SEO foundations, and realign the website and supporting resources.

Not to “do more” — but to make everything work together.

Working with a luxury travel influencer who’s also a mum of three reinforced something important:
Marketing has to function in real life.

Across time zones.
During travel days.
Around family schedules.

That’s why we didn’t create isolated assets. We built tools, guides, and systems that support each other — so the brand works even when life is busy.

Good marketing doesn’t feel clever.
It feels thoughtful. Useful. Sustainable.

These are the kinds of projects I’m leaning into more.

If enquiries are coming in but you’re still stress If enquiries are coming in but you’re still stressed about money, this is usually what’s going on:

Your marketing is attracting interest, not buyers.

Attention feels productive.
Enquiries feel promising.

But neither guarantee revenue.

This happens when your marketing is built around visibility instead of intention — and lead volume instead of lead quality.

You end up replying to a lot of messages, explaining yourself repeatedly, sending quotes that go nowhere… and still wondering why the numbers don’t add up.

How you fix it:
– Get brutally clear on who your marketing is not for
– Position your offer so it filters out browsers
– Build your messaging around decisions, not engagement
– Stop optimising for likes and start optimising for conversion

More leads won’t fix money stress.
Better positioning will.

A website makeover for @diabetes_nq She wanted “p A website makeover for @diabetes_nq
She wanted “professional… but still playful,” so we tightened the branding and created custom diabetes illustrations to match.
So tell me — did we deliver?

Design Case Study: Creating a Professional Yet Playful Identity for Diabetes NQ

Balancing professionalism with playfulness is one of the most common requests I get — and one of the trickiest to execute well. For Diabetes NQ, we wanted the site to feel credible and informative, but still warm, friendly, and easy to digest.

Here’s what we focused on:
• Brand clarity — refining type, colours, spacing and hierarchy
• Custom illustrations — diabetes-specific graphics that make the content more relatable
• Improved user experience — clearer navigation, simplified messaging, and better visual flow
• Emotional tone — ensuring the site feels supportive rather than overwhelming

The result is a refreshed website that reflects their mission: empowering people with diabetes through education, community, and accessible information.

Siobhan was very happy with the result: "Gabi is a breeze to work with and so flexible with what I needed for the redesign of my website! Gabi provided creative ideas and exceptional website design that met what I was looking for with prompt service and communication. Highly recommend her services."

Would love your feedback — does this feel like the right balance?
