How to choose which marketer to work with?

How to choose which marketer to work with?

by Gabriella Sovago | Oct 14, 2025 | Business 101, Marketing 101, marketing services

It would be so easy to say this: Well, if you do not have time to read this, just go with me, here is my number 0490485462, I am great and for sure get you leads. Problem solved 😛 But I won’t… I promise I won’t be biased here.  For context, I used to...

One of the easiest ways to never run out of B-roll is to film yourself while you’re already working.

Set your phone up while you type, plan content, write notes, pack orders, review client work, drink your coffee, open your laptop, walk into your workspace or reset your desk.

Then move the camera and do it again from a different angle.

You don’t need to “perform” for the camera. You just need small clips of the things you already do every day.

Those clips can be used behind:

Content tips
Client stories
Voiceovers
Educational reels
Behind-the-scenes posts
Promotional content
Launch reminders
Day-in-the-life style videos

This works especially well for service-based businesses because a lot of your work happens quietly behind a screen. B-roll gives people something to watch while you explain what you do, how you help, and why it matters.

A few tips:
Change the angle often.
Save everything into a B-roll folder.
Avoid showing private client information.
And maybe clean your desk first.

Or don’t.

Sometimes the chaos is the content.

Need help turning your everyday business moments into content that actually makes sense? Book a strategy call and let’s map out what to post.

I recently said goodbye to a client mid-project. I recently said goodbye to a client mid-project.

It was uncomfortable, but it was necessary.

The issue was not one single moment. It was a pattern.

There was limited trust in my expertise, limited time for the project, delayed feedback, changing expectations, micromanagement and communication that crossed a professional line.

And here is the part I want more service providers to hear:

You are allowed to answer questions.

You are allowed to explain your process.

You are allowed to be flexible.

But you are not required to constantly defend your expertise to someone who hired you for it.

You are not required to absorb disrespect.

And you are not required to keep forcing a working relationship that is clearly no longer the right fit.

When the project ended, I did not get emotional or messy.

I documented everything.

I provided a final project summary, shared all working documents, outlined what had been completed, transferred what needed to be transferred, gave clear instructions, reviewed the remaining budget fairly and closed the relationship as professionally as I could.

Because boundaries and professionalism can exist at the same time.

Good marketing work needs trust, time, communication, respect and clear expectations.

Without those things, even a good strategy becomes hard to execute.

Saying goodbye to a client does not always mean you failed.

Sometimes it means you finally protected the standard your business was built on.

One of our service-based social media management c One of our service-based social media management clients got booked out in one month.

And no, she didn’t have thousands of followers.
She didn’t have millions of views.
She didn’t need a viral moment.

In May, her account reached 12,589 people, generated 31,639 views, and had 591 profile visits.

She finished the month with 185 followers.

And still got booked out.

Because social media is not just about being seen by everyone.

It’s about being seen by the right people, with the right message, often enough that they start to trust you.

For this client, the strategy wasn’t complicated.

We focused on clear messaging, consistent content, personality-led reels, strong stories, and making it easy for people to understand what she offers and how to book.

Reels brought in new eyes.
Stories built connection.
The profile turned curiosity into action.

That’s what good social media should do.

Not just “perform well.”
Not just collect likes.
Not just make the account look active.

It should help people move from watching to enquiring to booking.

So if you’re sitting there thinking you need 10,000 followers before your social media can work, you really don’t.

You need clarity.
You need consistency.
You need content that speaks to the right people.

And you need a strategy that is built around actual business goals, not vanity metrics.

Small audience. Real results. Booked-out month.

That’s the goal.

If you’re ready to stop posting randomly and start creating content with a purpose, let’s talk.

I genuinely believe working out has made me a bett I genuinely believe working out has made me a better business owner.

Not because it magically fixes everything.

But because it gives me more energy, more patience, more discipline and a better ability to handle pressure.

Running a small business is not just strategy, branding, content, sales and systems.

It is also resilience.

It is making decisions when you’re tired.
Having hard conversations when you’d rather avoid them.
Showing up when results are slow.
Doing the boring things that compound over time.

And honestly, working out trains the same muscle.

You learn to keep going.
You learn to do hard things.
You learn that progress comes from consistency, not one big burst of motivation.

So no, I don’t think every business owner needs to love the gym.

But I do think every business owner needs something that helps them feel strong, clear-headed and capable.

Because you are the engine behind the business.

And that engine needs looking after.

Do you find working out helps your business mindset too?
you are so welcome! you are so welcome!
Most business owners aren’t struggling because the Most business owners aren’t struggling because they’re bad at what they do.

They’re struggling because they can no longer see their business clearly from the inside.

They’re too close to it.

So they:
• overcomplicate their marketing
• try every strategy at once
• post content without direction
• underprice themselves
• waste time on things that don’t actually move the business forward

And slowly, they end up overwhelmed, inconsistent, and stuck.

This is exactly why I created my 2-hour strategic coaching sessions.

Sometimes you don’t need another course, another Canva template, or another person telling you to “just be consistent.”

You need someone to step back with you, look at the full picture, and identify:
• what’s actually working
• what’s wasting your time
• where the gaps are
• what should be prioritised first
• and what will actually generate growth

Because most businesses don’t need 47 new strategies.

They need clarity.

One clear plan is more powerful than 20 half-finished ideas.

This is the work I do with my clients.

We look at your offers, positioning, marketing, content, lead generation, conversion gaps, systems, and customer journey — then create a practical action plan for the next 30–90 days.

No fluff.
No generic advice.
No “post 3 reels a day” nonsense.

Just practical strategy tailored to your business.

If your business feels messy, overwhelming, or directionless right now, this session was designed for you.
